Day 13 - Paris "I ate SNAILS!"

Madeline: We spent the whole day packing. The whole bed was covered with stacks of folded clothes. We thought Charlotte would help us out, but no, she fell asleep right in the middle of the clothes instead! We had to sit on our suitcases to get them shut! After we stuffed our bags with all the clothes we had brought (which was too much!) we still had tons of boots & shoes to still pack.

After most of our packing was done we went out for a bite to eat. We ordered fondue, steak, potatoes, french onion soup, and escargot (which is snails with butter and garlic). When the food came, the escargot looked so disgusting!!! It was green, mushy, and I had to scoop the snail out of it's shell with a fork! But I just said to myself, "just don't look at it, just don't look at it." So I closed my eyes, and shoved that buttery snail into my mouth. IT TASTED GREAT! It was so good I ate seven of them! Charlotte ate escargot too! She mainly loved to suck the butter & garlic off the shells! Now she has garlic breath...P.U.! Then we got dessert. We got 3 scoops of ice cream, mango, lemon, and chocolate. We also ordered creme brulet. I'm sooooooo full right now!

Tomorrow we have to travel back to london and stay in a hotel with a pool! (Luckily I brought my swimsuit just in case! )

Bon nuit! (Good night!)

All in all, such a fabulous experience! We all participated vicariously through your wonderful blog. I can't imagine how your trip could of gone any better (with the single possible exception of Maddie not overthrowing the British government, and potentially plunging us into a world war).

Have a great trip home. We love you all; can't wait to see you.

Kisses and Hugs,

Dad/Gramps

Hi Molly and Girls!
I have been checking out your website almost daily. It's been great looking at your pics and reading your narratives. What a joy it has been to follow you on your travels! It looks like you're having a great time. Quite an experience for the girls - just amazing. I look forward to hearing more when you return. I want to see all of you soon. Have a safe trip home! Much Love, Julie Colella

Good thinking, you've got Maddie hauling all the luggage-LOL! Although I can't imagine her sitting on the suitcases would be very successful. I can see why you were all disappointed that Charlotte fell asleep during the packing. She would have been such a big "help" you certainly would have gotten things done much more efficiently with her pulling everything out as fast as you could put it in
:-)

Have a safe trip home we love you all dearly! Can't wait to see you!

Warmly,
Lynn

Hi Guys!
I commented last night and it's been lost somehow. Now you'll never know what interesting things I said about eating snails!
We are praying for a safe trip home and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night! Hopefully, all the shoes & boots will arrive intact! Love you all, Mom/Grandma xxxxoooo
