Day 5 (for real) - London "Day of fun"

Madeline: Ok, let me tell you what I did for real on Saturday. We started out the day riding a double decker bus.
Charlotte made a friend who was the ticket guy. When we got on the bus me and my mom got car sick so we got off at the next stop and walked around a bit. Then we went on a Thames River cruise on a blue and yellow boat and we went under a lot of bridges including the London Bridge, and no, it did not fall down! On that boat we went to the Tower of London. It's lots of towers connected by big stone walls. The Tower of London is two things. If someone was threatening the royal family they would go to the Tower to hide and be safe. The second thing is, if someone was being bad they could use the London Tower as a prison. Now they keep all the Queen's crown jewels there. I went and looked at them. It was really cool. We saw crowns with all sorts of jewels in them. We had lunch on the green where they used to chop people's heads off! We even got to see the axe and the wood block that they used! We also saw all the old weapons that they used to use, and all the old armour that they used to wear. There was a brass rubbing table where you took a gold crayon and rubbed it on black paper over a brass picture and it made a cool design.

That night me and my mom went to the musical Les Miserables! It was one of the best shows I've seen in my life! I laughed in some parts, and I was ready to cry in others. I think the actors and actresses did a really good job. I was especially excited because I'm in the high school version of Les Mis next month. Now I know the whole story!
